The Egyptian CEDAW Coalition has participated in the 45th session of the CEDAW Committee in Geneva, from 22nd to 30 of January 2010. The delegation composed of the coalition members and other organizations has presented its oral statement by Afaf Marei and Seham Negm, which was followed by questions by the CEDAW Committee and ansewrs by Eman Mandour as a member of the delegation who was presenting ansewrs of the delegation members. On Monday 27th the delegation held a lunch breifing meeting with the CEDAW Committee members, which was attended by 19 members of the Committee among whom Naela Gabr who all raised questions after a highlight from the delegation on priority issues. The meeting tokk an hour, and it was highly interactive, the delegation members responded to all questions according to their areas of expertise, and members of the Committee have expressed their admiration to the highly organized meeting, and the valuable information destributed to all members. On Tuseday 28th January the government of Egypt has presented its joint 6th & 7th periodic report on the implementation of CEDAW in Egypt, and also questions were raised by the CEDAW Committee on different issues.
